Updates… Always Busy Sucks!!!

Well, I think the title says it all doesn’t it?

I know I haven’t posted ANYTHING here lately… but I’ve just been so busy with University and my own social life that I barely have time to sit down and update two blogs at once.

I bet you guys wish to know what’s been going on. I’m sorry to disappoint you but there haven’t been much happening apart from my Mum’s birthday which was Tuesday and my constant headache called University.

Though I will admit that I’ve recently had inspiration to continue writing down a crazy idea I had for a novel though I don’t have as much time as I would like to dedicate myself to it.

Damn… life is complicated!

As for my Black Sails Fan-fiction, it’s still up and I really want to finish it but I only wrote 1,964 words for chapter V. It’s totally pathetic but I think it has to do with the end of the first season…. I was SHOCKED!!! But I’m not going into details ’cause I don’t want to spoil things for those who haven’t seen it yet… But beware!!!

I also watched the entire Book One and Book Two of The Legend of Korra and I’m freaking out!!! I need Book Three: Change like, RIGHT NOW!!!

It’s a bit weird to watch that series knowing that Aang is dead. Not to mention the world which looks so, but so different from The Last Airbender. And the show itself is more mature… I don’t know! I really liked it but at the same time I want the old Avatar to return!

And Thursday I went to see Divergent with my sister two days before the official release here in Portugal thanks to a cousin of mine!! I owe her for giving me her tickets!!!!! I freaked out as you can imagine if you’ve been following my book blog. I love Divergent and I love Four so being able to watch the movie before its date was simply a treat!!

As for opinions about the movie, I still need to watch it again so I can have a full opinion. I enjoyed it very much, I found the movie very faithful to the original story but there are a couple of things I still need to re-think in order to have a fully coherent opinion. BUT, I’ll let you know that it wasn’t a fiasco as Beautiful Creatures and/or City of Bones were.

Anyway… this is just a small resume of what my life has been all about lately. Which, you can read for yourselves, hasn’t been much! Actually, my life is slightly pathetic at the moment but I’m trying to improve it.

I’ll try to finish chapter V. of my Fan-fiction and post it here as soon as possible but I have no idea when that’ll be. Still, keep an eye out on the blog! And since next week I’ll have free time, I might be able to come here more often *pray*

I’m leaving you a clip of Despicable Me that a friend of mine says that always reminds her of me! I have no idea why but I like to think it has to do with the IT’S SO FLUFFY!!!!

PS: you haven’t seen this movie (and the sequel) shame on you!!!!

Rowling Should Stop Writing!!! WHAT?!?!?!?!

I came across the most bizarre, mental, pathetic and filled with non-sense article in the whole world.

Just the title makes me cringe!!!

If JK Rowling Cares About Writing, She Should Stop Doing It

“When I told a friend the title of this piece she looked at me in horror and said, “You can’t say that, everyone will just put it down to sour grapes!” And she does, of course, have a point. No struggling but relatively ambitious writer can possibly be anything other than envious. You’d be scarcely human otherwise. But this particular piece isn’t about that.

I didn’t much mind Rowling when she was Pottering about. I’ve never read a word (or seen a minute) so I can’t comment on whether the books were good, bad or indifferent. I did think it a shame that adults were reading them (rather than just reading them to their children, which is another thing altogether), mainly because there’s so many other books out there that are surely more stimulating for grown-up minds. But, then again, any reading is better than no reading, right? But The Casual Vacancy changed all that.

It wasn’t just that the hype was drearily excessive, or that (by all accounts) the novel was no masterpiece and yet sold by the hundredweight, it was the way it crowded out everything else, however good, however worthwhile. That book sucked the oxygen from the entire publishing and reading atmosphere. And I chose that analogy quite deliberately, because I think that sort of monopoly can make it next to impossible for anything else to survive, let alone thrive. Publishing a book is hard enough at the best of times, especially in an industry already far too fixated with Big Names and Sure Things, but what can an ordinary author do, up against such a Golgomath?

And then there was the whole Cuckoo’s Calling saga. I know she used a pseudonym, and no doubt strenuous efforts were indeed made to conceal her identity, but there is no spell strong enough to keep that concealed for long. Her boy hero may be able to resort to an invisibility cloak, but in the real world, they just don’t exist. With a secret as sensational as that, it was only a matter of time until the inevitable happened, and then, of course, this apparently well-written and well-received crime novel which seems to have sold no more than 1,500 copies under its own steam, suddenly went stratospheric. And as with The Casual Vacancy, so with this. The book dominated crime lists, and crime reviews in newspapers, and crime sections in bookshops, making it even more difficult than it already was for other books – just as well-written, and just as well-received – to get a look in. Rowling has no need of either the shelf space or the column inches, but other writers desperately do. And now there’s going to be a sequel, and you can bet the same thing is going to happen all over again.

So this is my plea to JK Rowling. Remember what it was like when The Cuckoo’s Callinghad only sold a few boxes and think about those of us who are stuck there, because we can’t wave a wand and turn our books into overnight bestsellers merely by saying the magic word. By all means keep writing for kids, or for your personal pleasure – I would never deny anyone that – but when it comes to the adult market you’ve had your turn. Enjoy your vast fortune and the good you’re doing with it, luxuriate in the love of your legions of fans, and good luck to you on both counts. But it’s time to give other writers, and other writing, room to breathe.” by

Inês Gramma… GET WELL SOON!!!!

My best-friend’s grandmother is ill and in the hospital. And I don’t like it… I don’t like it at all when people are ill. Especially people I care about 😥

So, this is me begging her to get better or else I’ll be extremely sad. Because she’s one of the cutest grannies in the world and a person I’m very proud to have met.

I do care about her a lot as if she were my own grandmother. ❤

Counting Stars… Wish I Had Written That Song!!!!

Okay, I admit… I’m totally obsessed by OneRepublic song: Counting Stars

Completely obsessed!!!!

My sister is to blame actually; she was the one that asked me “hey, have you heard OR new song?” and when I said no, she introduced me the song.

After that I found myself humming it, singing it and listening to it non-stop…

Being obsessed is not healthy…. not healthy at all people!!!!

Apparently my niece is a fan of The Hobbit!

Why do I say that?

Well, because I was watching An Unexpected Journey and she wouldn’t look anywhere else but the television. And she seemed to understand it because she would gasp at the right moments and would be scared when the moment called for it…

So yah, my 2 months old Rory is already a hardcover baby that likes The Hobbit and Tolkien!!!!

Spending Valentine’s Day!

How I’ll be spending Valentine’s Day?!

Well, like this:

Writing my Fan-fiction, listening to Bear McCreary’s soundtrack for Black Sails (for inspiration – plus, Funeral at the Sea is a MUST LISTEN!!!), eating Kinder Bueno and eventually reading Harry Potter.

And I’ll be doing that because I don’t want to spend the day watching Pride & Prejudice, listening to All By Myself on loop, crying like a baby, eating loads of ice-cream and cursing my non-existence love life 😦

Still, just because my Valentine’s Day will be extremely depressing as it were, it doesn’t mean I don’t wish all those lovebirds out there a Happy Valentine’s Day 🙂

Happy Valentine’s Day Lovebirdies!!!
